World Cup Russia 2018 – The teams and players of ‘Group C’

Group C Briefing
France
Qualified directly from the UEFA – ‘Group A’ winner
Winners in 1998.
This will be France’s 15th participation in the World Cup. Their last appearance was in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
They come into the tournament as one of the favorites and probably the team with the brightest future in international football when we look at the talent on hand. France has one World Cup title to their name, and there hasn’t been a better chance to double their tally.

Australia
Qualified from the AFC through inter-confederation play-offs
This will be Australia’s 5th participation in the World Cup. Their last appearance was in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
After going 22 years without an appearance in the World Cup, Australia is becoming a regular at the FIFA World Cup. This will mark their fourth consecutive appearance. The objective for Australia in the 2018 edition will be to do better than they did in the last World Cup, where they lost all their matches.

Peru
Qualified from the CONMEBOL through inter-confederation playoffs after a 36-year absence
This will be Peru’s 5th participation in the tournament.
Peru became the fifth South American (CONMEBOL) side in the 2018 World Cup when they defeated New Zealand in the inter-confederation play-offs. And just like many other South American nations, attacking football is what the Peruvians prefer to play.

Denmark
Qualified from the UEFA through the play-off round.
The 1992 European Champions are back in the FIFA World Cup after missing the 2014 edition. Their record in the competition does not warrant a high expectation, but a favorable group in addition to their up and coming talents could see them surprise many fans.
This will be Denmark’s 5th participation in the World Cup. Their last appearance was in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
