Will it be too early to call ‘relegation’ for Newcastle United?

Is Newcastle United going back down after a year in the Premier League?

Newcastle United has had winless in their last 10 matches in all competitions but the first 9 of their upcoming 10 fixtures are against opponents that are (on paper) are about equal in quality.

All the newly promoted teams in the 2017/18 Premier League season did their part to remain in the season for another year.

The current state of the English Premier League has Brighton & Hove Albion as the only team from the 2017/18 promoted sides that could continue their stay in the top flight of English football.

Huddersfield Town and Newcastle United are finding it difficult to get the right results from the opening rounds of the 2018/19 Premier League season. They are currently the only teams in the league that are still winless, and the only teams from last season that are in the relegation zone.

Having a quite successful and experienced manager such as Rafa Benitez at the helm makes Newcastle United’s current status in English football a tad bit more difficult for fans to accept and/or understand.

With Newcastle United winning promotion to the 2017/18 Premier League as the champions in the EFL Championship League and also finishing last season of the Premier League In the middle of the league standings with 44 points from 12 win and 8 draws (the best finish amongst the three promoted clubs), pre-season expectations for the 2018/19 Premier League was far from a winless start in all competitive matches.

Buying new/better quality players will always be a solution to poor results, but Newcastle’s recent matches have been close enough to suggest that the current squad might be good for the job if with the right mentality and maybe tactics.

We wait to see what they can do with the next set of fixtures coming their way.
