The #WeekendBangers – Unbeaten runs would be put to the test over the weekend.

Weekend Domestic League Fixtures

November 2, 2018
Paris St. Germain vs Lille (French Ligue 1)
The best in the 2018/19 French Ligue 1 go against each other to open the 12th round of the season.
Not a lot was expected from Lille at the start of the season in terms of being title contenders but the task is not on them to do what has yet to be done in the Ligue 1 this season; defeat PSG. Failure to do so will all Paris Saint-Germain to at the very least open a 9-point lead at the top of the standings.
It might not be necessary but playing at home is an additional boost to the odds that Paris St. Germain will be getting their 12th win out of their opening 12 matches of the 2018/19 French Ligue 1 season.

November 3, 2018
Schalke 04 vs Hannover 96 (Bundesliga)
Just a point above the relegation zone in the standings, Schalke 04’s start to the season hasn’t been what is expected from a team that finished the last season in 2nd place. Schalke will have the opportunity to get the right result when they welcome a fellow struggling side in Hannover 96. Defeat to for either side will guarantee that they finish in the relegation zone at the end of round 10 in the Bundesliga.
Wolfsburg vs Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga)
With Bayern Munich currently breathing down their necks in the title race, an unbeaten Borussia Dortmund can’t afford to slip and drop points when they visit Wolfsburg.

Hertha Berlin vs RB Leipzig (Bundesliga)
Tied in points and with just a defeat in their opening 9 matches in the Bundesliga, both Hertha and Leipzig will be fighting for their place in the league standings while preserving their decent start to the season.
Real Madrid vs Real Valladolid (Spanish La Liga)
Real Madrid under new management will face their first test at home against promoted side Real Valladolid.
Valladolid is unbeaten in 6 league matches (4 wins 2 draws) and currently sits two points above Real Madrid in the standings.

Bayern Munich vs Freiburg (Bundesliga)
A third consecutive league victory for Bayern Munich will really put pressure on the other teams in the title race.

Arsenal vs Liverpool (Premier League)
Since opening their season with back-to-back defeats, Arsenal has gone 8 matches without a defeat (7 wins 1 draw). The results have Arsenal within range of being a contender for the league title. The big test is for Arsenal to extend their unbeaten run against a Liverpool team that is unbeaten all season and currently is the joint-holder for the most points in the league.
Both teams are in good form for this match. Arsenal will get the boost of home support while Liverpool will be boosted by their results from this season. A victory guarantees Liverpool to be part of the top spot and for Arsenal to remain in the ‘top four’.

Fiorentina vs Roma (Serie A)
The teams are separated by goal-difference.
Expectations are higher for Roma in Serie A and currently ‘goal-difference’ is the only thing separating them from Fiorentina. Dropping points in this match wouldn’t be the ideal result as both sides are just a victory away from potentially being in the ‘top four’ of the Serie A standings.

Reims vs Monaco (French Ligue 1)
A victory for Monaco will still leave them in the relegation zone.
Could newly-promoted Reims be Monaco’s access to their 2nd victory of the season?
Monaco is winless in all competitive matches since their 2018/19 Ligue 1 opening round victory over Nantes.
Reims is no ‘push-over’ as their only defeat in the last 7 league matches has been to unbeaten Paris St.Germiain. Monaco will need to dig deep to find the inspiration to avoid making it a 14-game winless stretch in competitive matches.

Newcastle United vs Watford (Premier League)
The search for a win continues for Newcastle United.
Watford has an opportunity to pick up points from both winless teams in the league if they secure the points away against Newcastle United after beating Huddersfield Town in the previous round.

November 4, 2018
Chelsea vs Crystal Palace (Premier League)
A London Derby
An opportunity for an in-form and unbeaten Chelsea side to get a home victory over a local rival and possibly end up the top of the table if results around the league permits.

November 5, 2018
Huddersfield Town vs Fulham (Premier League)
A relegation face-off.
A winless Huddersfield Town takes on a Fulham side that has conceded the most goals in the league.
For a winless Huddersfield Town, playing at home against the team that has conceded the most goals in the league should give the hope to capitalize on their ‘leaky’ defense and get your first win on the season.
For defensively fragile Fulham, playing against a team that hasn’t been able to get a victory should give the hope of being able to get a positive result.
