Matches

International break is over. Club football returns – Exciting fixtures you wouldn’t want to miss.

Could you really be considered a fan of football if you allow these weekend fixtures to go by without catching at the very least a half?

Keep this list of mouthwatering fixtures on you for the coming weekend.

Lyon vs Monaco

If Monaco is supposed to chase Paris Saint-Germain to the finish line in Ligue 1 title race, they will be needing results from fixtures like this.  Monaco(2nd) will travel to play Lyon(8th) in the ninth round of the 2017/18 French Ligue 1. Lyon has their own ambitions of finishing the season at the top end of the table. Both teams have suffered just a defeat after 8 matches, could this be the match for one of the sides to double their defeats?

Liverpool vs Manchester United

There isn’t a lot of goalless matches in a Liverpool and Manchester United match. Manchester United will be facing their biggest test of the season when they visit Anfield to play an attacking minded Liverpool team. Manchester United is undefeated and wouldn’t want to lose points when their city rival Manchester City might likely pick up maximum points in their fixture against Stoke City. Liverpool has dropped more points than they should have this season. A victory for Liverpool could throw their name back into the Premier League ‘title race’ conversation.

Juventus vs Lazio

Juventus is second in the Serie A standings; that is too low for a team like Juventus after 7 matches into the season.  Three points separate Juventus from fourth-placed Lazio. Most fans don’t expect Juventus to lose a match at home, but dropping points through a draw would be damaging to a Juventus team that has to chase a Napoli side that has been perfect so far this season.

Roma vs Napoli

While Juventus faces Lazio at home, Napoli travels to the capital to play Roma. Napoli will be looking to make it 8 wins out of 8 in the Serie A. Roma with a match in hand is not doing too bad in the title race with 5 victories and a loss. Can Napoli continue their winning streak?

Atletico Madrid vs FC Barcelona

Atletico Madrid has yet to lose a league match at their new stadium ‘Wanda Metropolitano’ and FC Barcelona has not suffered a defeat all season. Something has to give when these two clubs meet in the 8th round of the 2017/18 Spanish La Liga.

Borussia Dortmund vs RB Leipzig

RB Leipzig announced their presence in the German league with their performance in the 2016/17 season. Borussia Dortmund has been on a perfect run since the start of the season. Dortmund sits on top of the league table without a defeat in 7 matches while RB Leipzig is six points away and 4th place and two defeats over 7 matches. The favorite in this match will be Dortmund, but RB Leipzig has exactly what it takes to end the party.

Inter Milan vs AC Milan

Inter Milan has title ambitions, while AC Milan is just looking to do better than the season before. A ‘Milan Derby’ – Both clubs have made investments over the past summers, but it is looking like Inter Milan’s transactions are paying off.  Inter Milan is undefeated and 7 points ahead of their city rival AC Milan, who have suffered three league defeats in seven. With neither team having home advantage, the talent on the pitch will be the difference in this match.
