Barcelona completed the task in the first half to get a win against Celta Vigo to take a 3 point lead into the winter break.
Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring after pouncing on a saved Lionel Messi shot in the 10th minute before Messi scored his 15th goal in the league to double Barcelona’s lead.

Girona ends a short losing streak in the league after a draw against a Getafe side that is unbeaten in 5 consecutive league matches.

A goal in the 11th minute handed Alaves a win at Anoeta.
Alaves remains in the race to finish in a champions league qualifying spot in the standings.

Antoine Griezmann converted from the penalty spot to give Atletico Madrid the win they desperately needed against Espanyol. The value of Atletico Madrid’s victory gained a boost after Sevilla dropped two points against Leganes. Wissam Ben Yedder’s injury-time equalizing goal saved Sevilla from defeat.

Valencia put a string of unbeaten matches together after a late winner against bottom table Huesca. Levante falls to relegation-zoned Rayo Vallecano to suffer back-to-back defeats in the league.
