Briefing
Lyon ended up with the maximum points at home against promoted Nimes to help them bounce back from the ‘5-0’ humiliation against PSG.
At eight points clear on the top of the league table, Paris St. Germain makes it 10 wins in 10 with a consecutive 5-0 league victory at home. PSG’s last three competitive matches have been 5-goal victories.
Bottom table Guingamp held Caen to a goalless draw to get a point, while results at Monaco stayed consistent despite getting Thierry Henry as their new manager. Strasbourg welcomed Thierry Henry to life as a football manager by beating his Monaco side.
Two goals in each half helped relegation-zoned Nantes won their second league match of the season by beating Toulouse ‘4-0’.
A goal in each half against Bordeaux gave Montpellier the points to move into the ‘top three’ in the standings. Saint-Etienne shares the points with Rennes, while Marseille beats Nice away with a single goal.
